The 100 Push Ups Challenge ~ Week 1

So, you’ve all done your initial test and written down how many you can do? If you are confused to what I am talking about look here. So, it’s totally up to you if you want to do flat hands, on knuckles or with a push up handle (you can get those in sports shops and they are good for your wrists) and if you are struggling with the full push up, do them on your knees (and if that gets totally easy too soon, then maybe half the challenge to 50 and go for the toes. You will be amazed how fast you can build strength if you just try!). This is your challenge and you’re only competing against yourself (and possibly me if you really want to…).

It’s not to late to challenge a friend to do it with you. Or a colleague (or the whole office?!) or your mum. As I mentioned I shared the post on my Facebook Page Awesome Ashild and you can just share it on a friend’s page or tag someone in a comment that you want to challenge!

Have you picked your three days of the week you are going to do push ups? Today is Friday, which is my Day 1, Week 1. Friday 15th of November is 7 weeks from today, so by then my push up efforts should have improved tremendously! So here is your first week of push ups. You know where you ended up on your initial test, so you know what column to choose from (up to 5, 6-10, 11-20);

Make sure you spend about two seconds on your way down (chest touching the ground) and two seconds on the way up. That’s they way I intend to do them. OK? So week 1 might not look to scary, but I recommend following the plan, and build up slowly and steady!

Make sure you put a reminder on your phone or wherever you are likely to see it for your three days a week, and come back to check in on the plan for the following week next Friday!

That’s what I am going to do for my Something Every Day today, then I’m jogging over to a friend’s house and will probably run around with her kids for a few hours as well. No better workout that that! Still haven’t found a gym in my new hood (and I don’t know how long I will be staying here for, so it’s hard to sign up to anything that locks you into a contract as well), so need to just use my imagination instead! Good thing my imagination is quite good!

Have a fantastic Friday sporty people. If you smile, the world usually smile back 🙂 Are you ready to do some push ups? Readyyyyyy. Seeeeeet. GO!!!
