Dettol Little Things For Health

I don’t know how many times lately my clients have told me their wife/husband/kids are sick (anything from tummy bug to pneumonia to common cold) and not long after they call in sick themselves. During a day at work as a PT I touch a lot of people and all these people touch a lot of weight equipment, cardio equipment and door handles amongst other things in the studio. Then they go home and touch their own door handles, kids and kitchen knives. No wonder viruses and bacteria are spreading fast. Amazingly enough (and we should really touch some wood here) I haven’t been sick in ages. Fingers crossed it will stay that way for a while.

I have been encouraged by Dettol to talk about the Little Things For Health and as a PT I could probably talk about little (or huge) things for health all day long, but I chose good hand health when at the gym and when leaving the gym. Just think about it for a second; If you go to a massive gym with a few thousand members (and 90% of them never go, so realistically there’s only a few hundred people going), they all have partners, kids, house mates, dogs, cats, parrots, gardens, colleges and kinder garden teachers they are in contact with daily. Imagine all the bacteria that could (and I do say could here) go home with you, home to your wife, kids, dog and parrot. I think not. I would always recommend using a good antibacterial product before, during and after your visit to the gym.

To help you stay healthy I am giving away a Dettol No Touch Automatic Hand Wash System to a lucky health conscious reader.   According to Dettol  “The innovative Dettol No Touch Hand Wash System helps to protect you from the germs your hands may encounter during your busy day. It’s clever too, automatically sensing your hands and dispensing just the right amount of liquid hand wash. It makes hand hygiene as simple as possible and gives you one less thing to think about!Washing your hands is one of the most important things you can do to help protect your family from germs, and with this clever device, you and your family don’t even have to touch the potentially germ-packed soap pump. It’s great for caring for your family in the kitchen and bathroom, and helps teach your children about the importance of hand hygiene to help prevent the spread of germs.” You can learn more about Dettol’s Mission For Health here.

Dettol2All you need to do to go in the draw is sharing your favourite blog post from Awesome Ashild on your Facebook (or your second favourite if you’ve already shared your favourite) and like my Facebook page. Then leave a comment below that it’s done. The winner will be picked Monday 24th Feb 2014.

Winner has been contacted by email. Congratulations 🙂

If you don’t win, make sure you get a good antibacterial wipe, soap or similar to make sure you don’t bring any bacteria home from the gym. Because, guess what, you can’t use bacteria as an excuse not to go to the gym. You just have to be smart about it. Always bring a towel, always wash your hands after you finish training and sneeze in your elbow crease, please.

Stay healthy!

Awesome Ashild xoxo
